Vanny was born Vanessa Lynne Marie Lengies on July 21^st, 1985 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to Joe and Sheila Lengies. She's an only child, although her older cousin, Jessica has lived with her family since Vanny was 5.

Vanessa is well known for her role as "Sarah Leigh" on the hit YTV series, "Radio Active" as well as "Vange" on "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" and "Sponk!". She has also lent her voice to many different children's animated series such as "Emily" on PBS's hit series, "Arthur", based on the award winning book series, by Marc Brown, various voices on "Caillou", "Annie Inch" in "The Little Lu Lu Show" and "Elizabeth Patterson", "For Better Or For Worse", based on the popular comic.

Vanny also went on many adventures while on the award winning children's series, "Popular Mechanics for Kids" (also known as PMK), where she learned many things such as how to gut fish, safely trap a polar bear and take it back to its home, rode a motorcycle with stunt man, Doug Danger, learned about Sandboarding and many other adventures. She says that she used to watch PMK even before she was on it! She was a mega fan of the show and that getting to be on the show was a dream come true for her. Vanessa served also as the host of an internet series entitled Indie Top 40.

Vanny has studied the clarinet, trumpet, gymnastics and advanced jazz ballet. Her hobbies include soccer, art and public speaking. She enjoys listening to all kinds of music, except country. Her favourites are Jessica Simpson, Christina Aguilera, Madonna, Creed and last but not least the Backstreet Boys (She admits to having a mega crush on Nick Carter). She has also sung back up for two CD's for Jessica Ehrenworth and Tommy Hayes. She is also working on her own CD, which is being produced by her Dad, Joe, a musician. Some people say that Vanessa's voice is like "Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Madonna and Mariah Carey all in one". They say her voice is very powerful. She loves to sing "Like A Prayer", originally sung by Madonna. Vanny was nominated for a Young Artists Award in 2001 for Best Performance in a TV movie (Comedy) for Leading Young Actress for the movie, Ratz (2000) as well as other awards.

I think that Vanessa is a very talented actress, Im sure that she'll go very far in life and I'm very proud of her. Way to go Vanny!
